IMO this the cross a original type ,but not a W&L .

IMO this is a unmarked Jakob Bengel type,

(though the pictures not the best)

Hi Troy :
Some makers had a small ring on the top arm flange as part of the frame - a centering mark - to attach the jump ring right in the middle every time .
There is nothing worse than having crooked hanging medal .

These extra surface rings between makers were fairly close in diameter and some were shallow and some were very distinct/noticeable like yours .
This centering ring was normally covered . Only on one sided mounted jump rings and then crimped closed to the other side -
is where one gets to see this positioning ring .
