User ID Kept private for high bidder, never a good sign. What is up with the ends on the ribbon loop? They appear to be filed to a point?

I have seen this one several times before I think. It may be a "latvian", the beading looks like it has been squashed, the font of the 800 throws me off as well, has anyone got a frontal view from this guy yet?

The other thing is the total absense of any frosting, yu would think there would be some between the beads. My circles outline the squashed areas of the beading that turns me off.

HI, surely if someone is going to pay thousands of dollars you would think they would know what they were doing!! i have only recently joined this site and find it amazing to see such high prices for items that many members can clearly see are fakes. So much to learn, but i find it fascinating to see the knowledge you guys display.
              cheers bigd.

Good observation. Most fakes do not have a singel trace of frosting and neither does this fake. Artificial aging and low quality loop

                Cheers.

                        ...and to many crooks.

                          Peter,

You're spot on they are crooks. I was wrong, they're actually pretty good fakes! I wouldn't mind having one for a low price as unless my lottery numbers come up I'm not going to be able to afford a real RK! One thing I don't understand about these e-bay bidders, Rk's are either fake and worth less than £150 or real and worth upwards £6000, anything in between is a waste of money unless it's a one in a million find from a seller who doesn't know what they have. If a deal seems too good to be true it usually isn't true.

I wonder how long it will be before some crook makes a fake that's impossible to distinguish from an original apart from doing scientific test on the paint or metal? If that happens I wonder what would happen to prices? Your're £10000 RK could suddenly crash in value.
