    Field converted EK1 or post war Metal shop class gone haywire?

    Found this one today looking stupid in a group of Ek1s,,You all think its field converted? Thanks as always,

            Interesting to note that on both examples the soldered on pin has had the safety part of the catch removed so that the point is exposed.

                  Patrick,

                  A lot of pins from this period never had a safety hood on the end of the pin. This is quite normal for Third Reich style pins.

                      Thanks Brett, thats something I never knew. If I ever decide to get a nipple pierced when drunk then I will insist that it is done with a field converted EK! That should see me right until I sober up!!

                        Im 1000 shure you will sober up in no time, if you get a nippel percing from any off those.

                              I bet the owner's real award piece EK1 is nice and minty somewhere, while this guy was worn into combat. I bet this salty one has some stories !!
