            I believe that is from a wartime Heldengedenktag in the old Zeughaus in Berlin.

              Interesting indeed ;
              I have not seen this picture either ... wonder what the cross is made of ?
              3 and 9 have pointy bottoms - no balls . .... only seen on early actual crosses .
              Thinking about time line and those features ... could one conclude this was very early ceremony- like 39 /40 ??

                Come on, you guys. You really don't believe this hasn't been toughed-up in photoshop, do you?

                  this is not outfit he wore for public speeches. Looks bit suspicious. On the other hand, the cross itself I saw quite some times already.

                    This photo is perfectly fine. A closer view of the famous shot taken during his speech for Soldier’s Memorial Day. The large Ek was placed in position to cover the empty space (doorway??), under the external double staircase of the building. This is the first time I’ve seen this close up.

                      That day is March 16, and this photo was taken on 3/16/36.

                        How could the photo have been taken in 1936 when the date on the Iron Cross in the photo is 1939. Any I missing something?

                          It's not from 1936.

                            Oops, my mistake.

                            I’m pretty sure that there was in fact a photo opp on 3/16/36.
