Opinions - Repainted DKiG 6 rivet

The black glossy paint on the starburst and the evidence of black paint to the silverware (at the 7 and 9 o'clock positions) convinces me that this early Deschler 6 rivet DKiG has been poorly repainted.
Thanks in advance for your opinions,

Not the best photos but the paint looks really strange...

Paint is for sure different but painted by who, where and when is anyone’s guess. Original cross though.

Agree, the paint on the starbust is not original to this badge.
No one can tell for sure when this was done and it should affect the value.

Could have been painted by the original holder (have seen that before!) or some lessexperienced (or stupid!) collector. Pity.

Appears to me to have been Tuned up at some point, but it's still a genuine cross and I could live with that IMO.
