EK2 with manufactering fault Maker unknown...?

    Hi there,

Got this lovely Ek2 (the pictures just suck I'll try a scanner later this week), the nicest I've ever owned...aside from the minor "car accident" bump on the beading on the reverse near the ring, a manufacturing fault, not possible to have been done in the field...Can anyone hazard a guess as to the maker? Do these type of imperfections raise/lower the value of the cross you reckon?

maybe cleaned but i suppose not. the core looks also so nice, i guess the cross was probably never worn and therefore the frame is so shiny.

Thanks everyone...you know its strange, I've gotten so used to looking at medals through this website, I only thought of this one as a possible 65 when I saw the reverse of the medal and recognised the font of the "1813" by looking at the digital picture...how sad is that?!!

ok FINALLY got the scanner... I've never cleaned this cross but its from a vet via a dealer so he may have cleaned it but its unlikely.

Anyone care to comment on the 'bump'? Has anyone seen this kind of defect before? I've drawn a reference line to where the beading should follow...
