    Grand cross ribbon

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone know about these?- got this one which looks like it came off some kind of retail display or similar- it is silk, UV negative and 57mm in width. The white stitch count is 26 per row.

    Any help much appreciated!

    Many thanks

    Patrick

I have an unused length of the same ribbon: 57mm, 26 white, blacklight dead. Although I think it's cotton like the RK ribbon.

thank you- looks like a good match- mine could be cotton, I guessed silk due to the slight sheen to the thread. Do you think yours is a pre 45 ribbon?

IMO those cracks are not good signs. Well worn ribbons, ribbons exposed to rain and/or sunshine – perhaps, but generally RK and hence GK ribbons were very strong and not so easily cracked.

I know that I have marked a couple of pin holes, but the ribbon has cracked near the holes.
