iron cross on wreath

    iron cross on wreath

    picked this up today,it's a real ek2 soldered on to a plated brass wreath.really great detail in the wreath..was wondering what this is for? is this some type of funeral marker for a cross holder?

    Judging by the holes above and below the EK, I would say that the wreath had something completely different in there originally.

      I believe the Wreath is actaully upside down aswell from whatever would of normally been inside of it.

      Funny I just got this wreath below of E-stand, and it is used as a rememberance plaque

        don't think the wreath is upside down,as the "wrapping" of the ribbon is at the bottom,and the acorns face up.the holes are like i have seen used on womens organisations door plaques. used to attach to?

            Ed,you might be on to something,.i was e-mailed off line and told that the wreath looks like the type that was fitted to a large presentation vellum box that held an award document,the centre could be changed out?
