I just whant to say thanks Mr Maerz for the help with my oaks w swords set. Apparently a original wartime set (no doubt before), also thanks to Mr Giel Van Wassenhove for selling the set.

It seems to be an aging process of a kind of laquer on these unissued and unworn pieces. Collectors should be happy about that, because that is something that is absolutely impossible to fake.

Have you ever come across sets of oakleaves with this kind of laquer applied (and consequent speckles/dark patina) ?
Are there also "L/50s" with speckles or only 2nd type "21" Godets?
I'm just starting to collect KCs, but have noted this aging only on Swords sets...
