If you are refering to klessheim pieces... yes they exist and are certainly available on the market. One of these reasons is because they are less desirable as they have never been worn and considered drawer pieces...but not in the mass as you suggest. However, try to find worn Godet swords from first or second pattern. That's a lot more difficult and i can tell you i have never seen groupings of a soldier containing multiple swords. They are on the market from time to time but attract a very select crowd... non the less very rare!!

I imagine they all took different paths once they left the castle, yet they all seem to have this strange patina or am I mistaking?

A lot less than you think! The Swords are rare, there is no doubt about it!

It seems to be an aging process of a kind of laquer on these unissued and unworn pieces. Collectors should be happy about that, because that is something that is absolutely impossible to fake.

Have you ever come across sets of oakleaves with this kind of laquer applied (and consequent speckles/dark patina) ?

Are there also "L/50s" with speckles or only 2nd type "21" Godets?

I'm just starting to collect KCs, but have noted this aging only on Swords sets...

Mainly what I have seen, yes. But I have handled not all of Klessheim nor do I know any total inventory. And yes, there was also (at least) one set of Swords L/50 reported to come from Klessheim.
