If this is a fake, it was done at the highest level of fakery.
It even looks as if someone has worn it for a while.
I've never heard that there was any evidence of these ever having awarded.

I have never heard of that rumor. Since it is "apparently" I want you to report the apparent facts about that. Thank you for sharing!
(And, as an aside, it is not hard to say if they are wartime or not ... It surely is hard to say based on photos only!)

Very impressive looking and well built! Since this is not an award, should it be classified as custom jewelry (yes/no). Who commissioned it and the jeweler that did the work? Any DKIG holders wore it.........
