Another one from my fake folder. This one is marked with L/54.
My opinion: Return the cross and get your money back.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the replies! As I stated in my opening sentence, I was happy when I opened it. However, after looking through the forms, it became obvious to me that it was a fake.

The "maker mark" on the pin is 585. That'd be a good gold content, but a waste of time for silver.

Also, the 1 and 9 on 1939 run together - can be seen on a couple of the pix if you look closely (although I know the pix aren't so great). The skinny pin had me worried. Aaaaand, there are the die flaws in the ridges as seen on lots of the L/54 fakes.

Time to get with the seller and hope for resolution.

It is 100 per cent a copy.
Best is you try to get your money back.

You can try and make a deal Hank and only return the Bad EK. The case is orginal and in a nice shape. Value off that is 80-90 euro.

AS a final follow up, the seller screwed me. He bought it from the antique store owner, who GUARANTEED it to be original, so it must be. He professed ignorance, even though he's a T R collecor himself. If you ever happen to run across a Nino Kappmayer in Germany, buy with caution.
