1st Class Spanges For Your Advice

Trying to clean out an old collection, and even with the help of the marvelous book...."The Iron Cross 1. Class" by Dietrich Maerz & George Stimson...still have not been able to determine if these examples are good, or fakes.

Hi Jim,

I dont know enough to pass judgement but I like spanges 1 & 4 (design wise) but the hardware looks different from most I have in my "poor man's reference book" (archives). The screwback front design of your spange 4 is identical down to the date flaws (39) but the screwback is very different and your spange #1 also has a different pin set up than the ones I have on file but it doesnt necessarily mean diddly sqwat since hardware was sometime "2nd party" supplied and changed over time.

Number 4 looks like a nice otto schickle to me. Same set up on schickle screw-back ek1
