Would like opinions on Knight's Cross

Hi all. I'd like to get opinions on this Knight's Cross. It does come with some degree of provenance, but I need to verify the item itself aside from the provenance. Any help with this is greatly appreciated! From what I can tell it appears to be a good K&Q "65" "800"?

If you need additional photos I can see what I can do to get them, just be specific and let me know exactly what you need to see.

    Thanks!

I look at the pictures from my cell phone and it looks like a good K&Q.
I should take a better look at my PC when I am home.

Is the case also marked with K&Q ?

Thanks for the quick reply Andy! Not sure about the case. I do not have the case in hand so I cannot comment on it unfortunately.

For me also a genuine K&Q, with the right "fingerprints"

K&Q was the only manufacturer that marked their cases.
I post a picture how it should look if it´s marked.
The picture show a case for WMC but the marking should be the same on a K&Q Knight cross case.

Hi. I have a question about this particular cross. Is it known for certain when this particular type of cross began to be awarded?

Since the PKZ numbers were introduced end 42/early43 I would say starting early 1943, maybe also mid 1943. Depends how fast they got an order from the PKZ.

Yes, the ribbon you see above the cross is for an EKII (just happened to be in the photo). The ribbon below the cross is for the RK.

The cross of my dreams. (I have the EK II and I and would love one of these to complete the set. Just a dream). Looks a very nice set.

Thanks Tony! One reason it's in such great condition is because it was awarded posthumously to a Panzer officer. It was issued but never worn and stored away by the family all these years. The case suggests it was definitely taken out and viewed from time to time over the decades, but otherwise the condition doesn't get much better

                            Here's a question for everyone...

Notice the EK2 ribbon in a couple of the photos (above the RK)? Notice the 4 holes with some hints of rust around them? What are your thoughts about what may have been attached to that ribbon at one time? I can take exact distance measurements if needed. I'm purely curious.

An honor roll clasp would be my guess.
