      Those crosses have nothing to do with Stalingrad. According to 1992 dated article in a Russian collectors newspaper "Miniatura" the information about propaganda EK's are very limited. The only thing that is known for sure it's that they were ordered by the Special Propaganda Department of political comitee of the Leningrad Front. The assumption that it was produced in the quantities close to 500 and completely distributed during the Leningrad siege was based on the eye witness account of a single person and newspaper was asking anyone who had any information to come forward. There is some photos of period made crosses in the article but they are very bad. Second class almost indistinguishable.
