We try to be friendly here and not flame people we may not know. It makes our time here much more pleasant. Just a hint.

Jewelry techniques have been develped and refined over time and go far back into antiquity. Some procedures and techniquies that are used in the fine jewelry trade, even today, cannot be duplicated with CNC, laser or other copying methods. Certainly, dies and fittings may be mechanically made but there is still the skill factor required to hand craft and finish the parts. This is where the difference lies. Yes, the fakers are getting better. But until they are able to produce a perfect copy the sky is not falling in regards to this hobby. If they do happen to produce the 'perfect' copy we then will not know as it will be perfect.

It's fine to approach any collectable hobby with a realistic dose of secptacism. When one is a hard sceptic about everything and cannot rely on their own learned judgement or gut feeling then maybe they are pursuing the wrong hobby. This would be true with any endeavor that causes anguish and nagging doubt instead of joy and satisfaction.

Just some thoughts.

The award wasn't even mentioned in the August 1957 publication setting forth the description, materials to be used etc. in the re-issue awards!!!

The GC wasn't mentioned in the 57 awards publication as the only recipient, Goring, was dead. There would be no need to denazify that award.
