I am George! I bought my first Knight's Cross in 1976...

Although I have collected other than RK's (they) have always been an interest.

$450. a fortune for me at the time...I had to sell 2 K98k's at $125. per to put the deal together...

I have trouble with the kids' B-dates but for some nutty reason I remember this stuff
    Regards,
    Dave

Okay, Dave. That's good enough for me.

Okay, good enough for me, too!

But still not as good a Brian getting one (and still having it) in 1967 in Germany. Without oaks and with loop.

            Forgive... I'm new

            Hello Mr Stimpson,

I'm going to try and attach a scan of my old photo, I apologise for the quality but I think it is good enough to confirm that it was a rounder (sold to a certain dealer by the name of Adrian Forman.... thereby hangs another tale !! )

Does that 'dipping eye' look like a Juncker??

I do not think that the above pictured RK i a "rounder" (Reply number 65). Looks like the centre have been file into shape, to give place to the Swaz.

Especially if you look at the upper right "side", or am I completely wrong?

                Best regards

                  Oh dear Oh dear

The pictures are a scan of an old photo.... All I ask is that you trust me when I say that I spent many hours looking at this cross with an eye loop !! I know that it was a rounder.... I also had a Junker non magnetic core and unmarked (that I was unsure of at the time because it seemed rather poorly constructed) but I now know was an early example ( kicking myself now ) The info and the details are so far advanced now with this and other forums.... I'm an old fart who has had and lost and I have no axe to grind.. Suit yourself, I am just sharing what I know to be true by past experience and therefore only an opinion... but I stand by it. Hey, Guess what, this is fun.... hope you fellas don't get too emotional ( I've seen what happens in past posts !!! ) It's a debate and only a hobby...

                      Dave,

I am in no way questioning what you know better, just making a few observations on your rounder....here the rounded inner corners are asymetrical....maybe it is just the photo........

                        Yes, crap photo

                        Hi Harry,

Yes, as I said before, crap 20 year old photos, sorry, cannot provide up to date digital images as I sold the cross with other items many years ago ! But I know what I saw as I'm a bit of an obsessive when it comes to these items... just felt I should tell what I know. The cross was well made and impressive when compared to my early Junker ?

                          Hello Dave, and welcome.....

Did the variance in the width of the outer rim bother you?..

                          regards

Hello Dave! The cross you have offered indeed in not the (type) of Rounder that is being discussed! However, don't discourage as the cross you show could create a whole new discussion....very unusual '3' in the 1939

Ofcourse, then we must consider the source as you very gently put it!!
                            Regards,

Rounders!!! The poor dog has the bruises to prove my frustration....kidding!

However, I have to bail on this issue as it's not going anywhere and getting a bit abusive ie;......

"""We don't know who made these Rounders Dave. Before you go on being a complete ass about this you might consider whoever made the rounder made it available for other companies to sell.""""

Marked '7' or otherwise....after the PK disallowed the private sale!! It's almost akin to the stupid 'Jeweler copy' assertion...

                              I give up lads!
                              Regards,
                              Dave

Hi Marshall, No it didn't because it was not as severe as it appears in the pic, it matched the differences noticable in the rounder in Gordon Williamsons book, page 336. I think it was unwise to use those poor quality pics taken at an angle, overexposed within the case etc etc. I can see why Dave Kane saw a difference in the 3 but again I think its just the pic. I have another old pic that was taken face on but I'm not sure if I should bother

                                regards

                                Dave
