Cross is a Souval, but case may be an S&L. Ribbon has potential.

            Souval?

These were on it but are not marked and I know nothing about these. When were these Souval pieces being made?

              ribbon

I counted 24 rows of white thread on the ribbon .I believe to be original WWII. Cliff

                  Souval

I realize the cross is post war but if the ribbon and the case are pre 45 production I would assume that they may have some value to someone who has an original KC with no case and ribbon.

The ribbon could be wartime, but I'm guessing the case is likely to be an early '57 S&L case. Have you blacklighted the interior? There are many here who know more about cases than me, so I hope others will chime in.

                        Case

Nothing in the case glows and it looks period but I am no case expert either.

Greetings fellow enthusiasts, this is my first post on WAF. I have an RK case just like this one, I'm confident it's early '57. It's wonderfully constructed with a deep recess that keeps the cross snugly in place. The velvet is very nice not like the poor quality prom tux velvet you see on many reproduction TR items.

I have an earlier S&L 57 KC set with 1st pattern core on a B frame. All components are original to the set. The ribbon and case appears to be made of natural material and neither the ribbon nor the case glow under the black light like my mid 1980 57 KC set does. My ribbon has 21 stitches on the white row which makes it a post war manufacture according to Dietrich Maerz book description of the wartime ribbon. Your box is almost identical to my early S&L 57 KC case. The individual I purchased my early 57 KC set from stated that these early cases may have been left overs from the late war period. That being said, the case like yours was definitely used in early S&L 57 KC sets.
