Wait for other opinions to be sure but IMO the spange is definitely a repro of the unknown maker (often attibuted to Schmidthaussler) EK 1 spange: the additional line on the lower legs of the eagle gives it away as a copy (see attached pict of original). No idea if the EK1 1914 is good or not but it becomes somewhat of a moot issue if the spange is bad

Closed 4 and open 4 refer to the upper arms of the 4.
Most (not all) 1914 crosses use a 4 that is open at the top. There is a fake out
there that uses a overly large crown in conjunction with a closed 4 date. The one
posted is such a cross. Unfortunately, it copies a known original making it very
difficult to tell good from bad. In this case, the cross was maker marked with a KO stamp. KO never used the closed 4 style of core.
