Sanya, are you sure the lenght varies according to the maker ?

I believed 30 mm ribbons were used on the cross itself, and 25 mm for buttonhole and ribbons bar.

30mm is used for crosses. There is no other correct width for an EK2 (after 1870).

25mm is used for wrapping medalbars or court-mounting. Sometimes you see 30mm used for single mounts also.

30mm or 25mm may be used in the buttonhole, in my opinion.
              Best regards,

                I'm with Streptile here.

BUT I can't ignore the fact that many crosses arrived with a 25 mm ribbon. I must have had many many thousands of crosses and 99% are from private sources.
I see quite many 25 mm ribbons on crosses with a 45 degree cut, length approx 150 mm. That indicates for me that the other half was used for the buttonhole.

So the question is, did they automatically get a piece of 25 mm ribbon with their cross?
I never received a set with bag and two types of ribbon.

I agree with those principles for regulations PKZ
