    Klein & Quenzer EK1

    Hi guys,

Here is an unmarked K&Q EK1 that I won in a recent auction. Looks like this one saw some use. It has also been vaulted a bit. Still a pretty decent looking EK1, IMO. Hope you like it.

    Best regards,
    Tom

K&Q unmarked early type with Core A. Still the best-looking 1939 EK1 ever made

Agreed. There is nothing like a K&Q. The first pattern cores are my favourite.

I have to agree with the above comments. The K&Q is my favorite maker of the EK1. One of the few i can actually identify in period photographs.

                Thank you!

                Hi guys,

My thanks to all for the comments.

I felt that the core on this one was a little grubby looking, so I went and sprayed it with WD-40, then wiped away the excess with a soft cloth. I think it looks a bit better now.

                Best regards,
                Tom

It's a nice example but I would be hesitant with the use of WD40. I has the ability to act a solvent in some instances.

                    Looks nice.

I use gun oil, which is designed to kill rust but maintain finish. Never failed me as a tool for preservation.

Nice early K&Q. WD40 is a good choice. I use it and have some VERY good results !!!! It's an easy and economic way to protect your items.

WD-40 is far too strong to use .... a big no !
As said gun oil is a better choice .
