The pin is replaced IMO, a lot of these have turned up finished on the obverse but with that black finish showing to the reverse and no pins as they were lifted from unfinished factory stocks

Hi John, its been a while...

Assuming mine is OK, from what I can see the hinge and catch look identical to yours, just the pin looks different (fatter). It would still make a very nice matched set with your great Deumer EK I 1914 I saw yesterday

Yes, I kept them together as they would have been worn, on my display.
