For sure not a Godet and also not a typical Deschler. Strange cross!

Look at how poorly the swaz is made . The silver rim around the enamel is real erratic . Mine and others I see in pics are much better on that . Swaz also fits TERRIBLE - look at the gaps . Also look at the silver behind the swaz . How did it get the cleaning scratches like that with the swaz in place . Actually it may be just the pic but doesn't it look like the center silver disc is OVER the red ring ???? No expert on these but it is definitely NOT at all like my heavy Godet .

Far too many pits on all portions of this cross to be comfortable with.

                        Hi guys,

I don't have any experiences with german crosses and I was wondering if this german cross is just not textbook or is it a fake? Thanks in advance!!!

I dont see problems with it, it is a Deschler with long pin, rare in Gold grade. Just looks heavy cleaned

                            sloppy and nice swaz

Now I am not the right one to be speaking up here but compare these two pics . First is from post #435 of " German crosses today " here and second pic is from this thread . Both are " 1 " marked . Pics should speak for themselves but the swaz is really sloppy on the one in this thread and as mentioned compare the pitting . Now I am no expert on these or Deschler stuff in general but there is a SERIOUS difference in quality between these two . OR am I just too cautious ? Dave

The pitting could be from wear and cleaning and so forth. I wonder if this isn't a real "in hand" case. Its a very good discussion. Perhaps not an example to buy even if good as it would probably be hard to sell on in the future for the reasons being given. Not clear cut enough for people to be certain is a good sign not to continue with a sale.
