    Gary,

    You are absolutely correct, and that is also the reason why I kept these rather than the others I got rid of when I sold the bulk of my stuff in the mid 80s. I also kept the dagger I got from him and sold the other army ones I had.

    Also Tom I kept a lot of the things I did for much the same type reason you kept the helmet you did. Things are just not the same as they were when it was much more fun than when I for all practical purposes quit collecting because it was just not fun anymore.

      When I was a kid in the early to late 50's there was a pawn, junk, gun and antique shop in Minneapolis where I would go to look for stuff. He always had a lot of German WW2 stuff. Some he would sell to us kids and some he would not (guns). He had a shopping cart FULL of Lugers & p-38's, "your choice" $25.00 ! I remember I bought a small party flag and Infantry assault badge and a K-98 bayonet with frog for $15.00 ! Sure was fun back then ! Tom
