Should I be asking if it is an original ?

        Thanks,

Can you post a more detailed close-up of the obverse?

The cross has no side taper ... that for me makes it a post war piece .

After closer comparison it is a fake variant that shows up in different forms . The A-Symtrical arms are the big give away , even some Flock KvKs have this .

                    Douglas,

Are you saying that the arms are always the same length ? The reason I ponder this is that there are crosses on the pinned thread that don't have the same length either. Here is the thread I referring to:

                    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=475124

Also, here is a typical example picture from the thread that illustrates the arms are not the same length.

                    Thanks,
                    Pat

No Pat ... the arms are the same length . It is about the symmetry of the arms .
Besides that it has matching hilt features - handle ribs and mushroom caps - and the same flat pebbling as this Floch .

                        Hi!
To me it looks like a zinc original cross Manufactured by S&L.

                        Have a great day!

                        Best regards
                        Martin

I agree that it's an S&L. Whether is was made during or after the war, I can't say.

You had previous wrote that "this side is longer than this side". I was just pointing out that there are other KVK-1st that are in the database that have different length sides.

                            Thanks,
                            Pat

S&L's KVK1 without swords, for instance.
