      Looks like the reproduction Floch.
I'm sure one of the more knowledgable will join in.

          Harry,
That is a textbook Floch. A fake by the king of fakers.
          Sorry,
          Marc

Yep, it's a Floch for sure.

              Harry,

Tell your buddy not to feel too bad, he's in good company.

Tell him he might as well keep it for reference, although once you've been hit with one of these, you tend to remember it.

Thanks for your help guys. This same cross appears to be pictured in Forman's Guide to Third Reich German Awards, volume 2 on page 26. Is it the same? Is it a Floch in this book?

                  Harry.
I have that book. It is not a Floch on page 26 in my opinion. The cross you posted above is a Floch though.

                  Cheers.

You can see that it's fake or repro at the condition of it I think, it's far too nice and intact to be real.

And what about the mint un-issued ones? It doesn't have to be lying under the ground for 60 years to be sure of? I saw examples still in cellophane bag...

NOTE: I'm not claming that this is an original one!!!

i've learned from these forums that it's easy to spot a floch simply because "1939" is positioned much lower. Which is the case with this one
