German Cross Deschler 1

This cross is being offered by a coming auction in Germany; is it true about the rarity of this cross and is it real deal?

Here's the auction's description:

German Cross in gold - late (light) Deschler-production
The star body silver-plated, copper-clad bimetallic manufactured pads with four head rivets, hallmark the needle with "1", the presidential office number of the company Deschler & Sohn in Munich. The needle hook means round intermediate plate soldered to the base plate. Beautiful, slightly worn copy with little wear on laurel and aureole. The enamel of the swastika completely untouched. Width 63 mm. Weight 53.2 g.
In our experience, it is this last, lightweight design of Deschler with the rarest Manufacturer variant of the German Cross in Gold. By us for the first time offered state: I -II!

Hi Claudio,

I know when I was researching my cupal 1 example I could not find pics of many others. Whether the cupal Deschlers actually classify as "rare" is not for me to say though!

Re the example in question, and maybe it's a trick of the image, but the swas enamel looks like a very even matt finish, which I find unusual.

Thanks Mike, for pointing out the fact that the surface of the swastika looks matt... in the heat of the exciment I oversaw that; Actually all my DK have very lucid/brillant Black enamal on the swas... Maybe this one could have cleaned with the wrong polisher or even worse the enamal have been completely repaired/replaced...

nice DK. The light Deschler is not common indeed but don't look to me it has a bigger value than the common heavy one.
Talking about the Deschler variants in GOLD, I would say the rarest is the 10 rivets then the 6 rivets with long pin.

Personally, I think the lightweight Deschler with a catch plate is a harder example to find than the heavy version.

True, it is less common than it's heavy brother but once in a while you encounter them.
What i noticed on some of these light deschlers is that the hinge plate sometimes
is very sloppy attached.
The one you post is a gorgeous example, very nice

I think its less common but not rare. Someone mentioned the 6 rivet long pin being rarer this is the case i but the 6 rivet long pin is only in silver so they are rarer anyway. I think the 6 rivet short pin is rarer but they come up for sale now and again ay high prices. The 10 rivet I have never seen for sale and I would be highly suspicious of any that did come on the market but i would love to get one. The maker mark on this example is quite lightly stamped. Its quite a nice cross though IMO.
