It's an original. Later zinc ones like this had the suspension eye cast into the top of the cross - which is why it is 'thicker' than the earlier bronze versions which had these soldered on separately.

Thanks to everyone for the info...I don't have a blacklight yet so i can't say if the ribbon glows or not..I'm happy that it turned out to be a good one considering how little i paid for it..
