Thanks for the photos Nick. Yeah, I can't find a match for this one in my files, I thought it might be an early Godet but comparing it to yours I can see the differences.

Thanks Trev, I've been trying to find a match for this for days
H&S is one maker I haven't collected, so I never really studied them but, this one seems a little different from the ones shown in the DB, or is it my eyes. The curl on the 9 & 3 seem more defined and the last 9 is a lot smaller. An early core possibly?

Looks like a '55' to me also but would have to be an early frame. A pic of the reverse date would prove it. The '1' on the reverse date is an easy to compare feature.

Thanks Matt, I'll post a reverse shot as soon as I get back home...

How many different frames/cores did this maker use?

                  Hi Chris

Good question. I don't know the answer (and don't recall the question being asked before). Perhaps someone else can help with that one.

It is just very common to find H&S frames with significant die wear. Check Stefan's wonderful site for an example (or search the forum and you will find plenty showing the 'double ribs' or 'hollow ribs' that look like this || ).

Thanks Matt and as promised here is the reverse, although I think we can put this one to bed. It's not mine, I just saw it while cruising and couldn't place it

                      100% '55' H&S.

The '1' in the reverse date has a very long nose. That's a characteristic I personally always look for.
