EKII core metal?

Hello,

I have an EKII by maker 24 and under the paint there is a gold tint, however it is magnetic. Does anyone know about metal mixture that may give it this color?

Ahh ok that is very interesting, I have seen a lot of EKIIs but none with that gold color, I'm so confused

We are sort of discussing the same thing here. There was some period process of plating steel (or nickel?) with another metal that looks brassy, or coppery. Perhaps it was to avoid rusting? I know Deumer did that with some EK1s.

Thanks Streptile, this was the reason I saw it and instantly got excited because I thought it was a brass core.
