    Fake R3 EK1 :

As Ben had just shown the original R3 EK1s - I am putting up a thread with Fake R3 EK1s and frame - pin variations .

Original R3 EK1 types can be seen here . http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=701483

When doing a search in the search box one will now get all the fake R3s in one thread .
The - fakes - below are some I have on file . Some pictures are better than others and I do want to point out that these are - not all - of the variations . Some may be Frankensteins - some not ... mostly hard ware variations .

I arbitrarly numbered the pictures .
If you have better pictures - or - ones not shown - please post here to have them all together .

    Thanks Douglas

              Good idea

The most dangerous fakes are those that use real R3 cores from EK2s. In this case the determination must be made based on the frame and the hardware.

I have seen a few of these.
              Best regards,

Here's one of those, posted it in the fake gallery as well.

Deschler core and frame, souval-ish backplate and hardware.

So they've used an EKII core and front frame with a Souval back plate and pin or just Souval style? The newbee like me would have not hope.

It looks like a new backplate with original Souval hardware, judging by the sloppy soldering and the color of the backplate.
                    These crosses are dangerous.

Should you ever consider buying one: if they are not the same as the 3 examples shown in the "R3 originals thread" , don't buy!!
                    You will get burned !

Ben, they even copy 57er medals, which I find completely crazy ... this is a hard sport to play. This reference you guys are providing is invaluable. A huge thanks

                        You're welcome Tony.

Fora like this one are very good for sharing info.
It has saved me a lot of money too!

Actually they even fake day rally badges, although most of the originals cost less then $20....
