        George - could it be that the manufacturer was using up old stocks of rings left over from 1914/18? I guess that would make it an early war piece. Whatevers happening its very interesting as this just should not exist according to all the ref. books.

          Both ringes on the cross are soldered.This is how the cross was made.

            Good day to all
            I am sending the IC and a IC1C To Mr Stimson to post so all can see.A word to the wise Ref books are great but not the last word. I have been collecting for 40 plus years and have many Ref books and I have found in these 40 years a lot of times these books make many mistakes.Just like collecting coins some times you find that rare mint mark on a dime that should not be there thus making the dime priceless.
