Marcus,the stamped numbers in the bottom of the cases are they just the workman's ID number who assembled the case?....the same as the pencilled in numbers?

There have been several responses to myself since I started 'guessing' and deliberating what these could be.
Batch number, line number etc etc etc. I am trying to get hold of people who worked in the factories and will take a trip to Germany yet again, adversely get a friend to ask the questions I pose.
I'd like to base my answer on premise for you, so I'll say I don't know at this moment in time.
But do e mail and pm, because I'm getting forgetful and bogged down with all sort's. Keep jogging me for answers and I'll do my best to find out.
I've a couple of nice sources but they always reply in ruddy German !
