What do you guy think of this: Real or fake

    Hi there,

I am new to collecting relics from my countries history. I have started to look now for Medals etc of the 2nd WW.

I have a proposal for the EKII without the ribbon and an Ost "Winterschlacht" Medal.

I am a bit worried about it, because the guy lives 300 km away. It s hard to tell by photos. He wants 120€ for it. Could you plz have a look on it and tell me if its worth it?

    THX

    Jag,
First off, welcome to the forum. Secondly, both of these medals are quite common and can be found in much better condition for the same asking price. Lastly, since you are just getting into collecting it is always a good idea to post items up for review before you purchase. Good luck.

          Hi,

thanks for the quick responses and warm welcome. It is kind of hard to find items at a good price here...@Chet &Eddie: Do you know where I could look?

@plaut: How do I see that it s a fake and do you think the Winterschlacht medal is a fake too? Because I have already an EKII so I m more interested in the Ostmedal.

          Cheers from Mannheim

            JAG,
The e-stand on the forum is a very good place to start. Both of these medals are listed there on a regular basis. However, I think you need to become an "associtation member" to use it.

Ost looks good but Ek not - take a look at swaz (fuzzy shape) and frame is known from fake EK's.

Welcome to collecting. Nice to see a new member

Since you live in Germany, try these sellers:

                Wöschler Orden
                Klaus Butschek
                Militaria-Berlin

Those three dealers will sell you only original pieces, and if there's a problem they will refund your money. All three get a big from me.

Also, join the SDA (in German language) and shop in the Marktplatz.
                Best regards,
                Streptile

Welcome to the forum. You don't have to be an association member to buy from the Estand here, just to sell pieces.

                      Hello,

The Winterschlacht medal looks to be in good condition with all the silver finish left to the rim and helmet.

Other sellers based in Germany are:
