              Hello,
              Original Zimmermann!
I can not exactly see it, it seems as if it has been repainted.
On the back are painted over rust scars. Maybe deceives the image.
Or is it a KC from the "Brandschutt" which sold by H. Niemann?
Please show us good pictures of the two dates.

              greeting

I was thinking the same -- is this one of the fire damaged and restored Zimmermann crosses?

As new surface rust seems to be appearing it may not have been stored well once restored.

Certainly looks like an original. I personally would say and I know many purists will throw their hands up in horror, if it were mine I would take it to a reputable jeweller, have it dis-assembled, the core fully restored, protected and re-assembled!! after all a genuine examples value would make it a very desirable piece, in the end people do just that with Ferrari's and the like, left alone it will continue to deteriorate, just my thoughts.

                    regards

Its a original cross for me but I don´t Think that the black paint are original to this cross, it´s my opinion.
                        But still a nice cross
