Reverse with typical pin and PKZ-number "26". Brand new and unissued. Comes with regular case.

Legal? Perhaps not. Explanation? Perhaps TR awards were not as carefully monitored as we assume.

Dont know about the front side. But back side is ok. IMO makers did not always stamp the LDO or L/?? on the private buys Ek´s. And i also think they did sell unmarkt as well pkz stamped to any that did show a soldbuch or proof for it. Juvelers have from before C to after C always tryed to make money.

I have seen one of these examples before,it was on UK eBay and it was bought by a British dealer for a £100.

This one is a bit blurry but the mark is 26 although the pin and hinge are different to usual Mayer's

Perhaps the pins were all stamped one week and put into a box, some later point it was realised Meyer could make some money selling replacement pieces for the vets, slap a few together and use the pre stamped pins. <O</O

Don't forget, the PK-Nr. was to be used after mid-44. How many EK1-WW1 were really needed in the last 11 month of the war?

I would imagine quite a few, remember AH formed the Volkssturm in September 1944, this would have included thousands of WW1 veterans. <O</O

Here's an unmarked TR-style 1914 EK 1 by Mayer that's currently on its way to me.
