KVK1 w/o swords L/14 - "prinzen size" ?

Dear Friends,

Attached pictures of weird KVK1 I have had for some time.

It is measured 27 x 27 mm - so bigger than standard miniatures (16 or 9 mm).

Let me know what do you think?

Interesting Jani ... that you should have one this size .
A few months back I asked about the same ...... , both types - with and with out swords but these two were in 2nd class . Being in a locked case under glass I had to guess them being about 35mm or so ... also larger than the normal minis .

Did yours have any maker marks?

However - I have always thought that minis were regulated to be either 9 mm or 16 mm, so the other sizes would have been against the rules and not allowed to be worn?

It would be nice to hear if others have seen such peculiar sized ones.

Well Jani ; .... the guy was closing up and did not want to open the case any more . I have no idea if they were marked . ... just that they were larger than minis - which caught my attention in the first place .

You're correct, the general two sizes were 9mm and 16mm. Still other sizes between this spectrum can be encountered, as well as above (i.g. the Blockade-brecher with regular stickpin in 26mm).

I've seen the 35mm type Douglas is referring to and it was IMO a fake. I'm afraid I feel the same about your's. Categorized as a badge for wear on civilian clothes, the hardware makes no sense, as it would require sawn loops, or else it would destroy the fabric of the jacket. A new generation of KM badges in similar size with a safety-pin attached with a plate has emerged, but those are also IMO pure junk.

I totally forgot the 26 mm blockade-brecher!

I have been suspicious with this badge, but in case of fake I would expect to see another. However I have not yet seen the KM badges you mentioned.

I have had this around 3-4 years.
