It is always a problem with provenance.
Unless there are some rock solid provenance I would not believe the story, but only the item.
For me, rock solid would include Pictures of the medals/badges with the original owner, and not just a letter from a dealer, who says it is so.

          Dennis,

The cross comes the winner's wedding foto (copy from the son,
and 2 copy fotos in which the old winner was visiting the division base in Bleslau, from the picture a memory stone engraves the unit, which was the winner serviced in. I will give the buyer the winner's name, and the original foto from the auction, the winner got its original cross: Godet heavy, but heavily worn. He thought it was not good if he was wearing it in his wedding, so he bought this one, so this one was only worn in his wedding. The auction tried to contact with his son for documents, but failed.
It is very fool original heavy Zimmermann in stone mint, as said, it is first for the most collectors to see heavy zimmermann in such condition. If i were not to buy a large Panzer grouping, i wouldn't sell it.

Imo nothing wrong with this DKiG! Not cheap but it's hard to find a cross in such condition.
