    My SOS-2013 EK1 & EK2 haul.....

I know it's a bit late, since the SOS Show ended 16 days ago. But here are photos of the 5 Third Reich era EKs I purchased at the show. You'll notice there is an EK1-1914 and an EK2-1914 - I included them here because they were manufactured during the TR era.

Here is a photo of all 5 crosses together, and the ribbon bar I also bought. There will be detailed photos of each cross after this.....

Here is a 1914 EK1, made by B.H. Mayer. This cross has the same dimensions as the next EK1 (W&L 100). The cross is slightly vaulted.

EK1 1939, made by Rudolf Wächtler & Lange. It is marked "100" on the underside of the pin, but unfortunately the iPhone camera was unable to zoom in properly on it.

Here is a Godet EK2-1914, made during the Third Reich era, but before the war, as it retains the WWI cross dimensions. The frosting is very nice on this one (the iPhone camera doesn't show it very well). The ring is marked "G".

Here is an EK2-1939, made by Friedrich Keller and marked "66." on the ring. This is the first one of these I;ve seen - is it a rare maker?

Here is an EK2-1939, made by Wilhelm Deumer and marked "3" on the ring. It came with a packet, but it has no maker name on it. Does anyone know if this is a Deumer packet? If it isn't a Deumer packet, I would be willing to sell it to someone who needs it.

.....and lastly, here is a ribbon bar. Fairly common, I think, but I've always wanted one with an EK2 and Anti-Communism ribbon.

Nice additions John, and I agree with everything you wrote. As I told you at the show, I love the Godet and I would have bought it myself if I'd seen it. These Third Reich-era Godets with silvered neusilber frames are not common. I have one on a non-combatant tuxedo bar:

...and I've seen a handful of others. I guess they were made in the '30s.

Your Packet is from Maria Schenkl, but for some reason a lot of these show up with the named flap torn off and with other makers' crosses inside them, so I really don't know what the story is.

I'd say Keller 66 is an "uncommon" maker. You don't see them too much. The mark, interestingly, is usually stamped right into the solder join of the ring. Is yours like that?

Anyway, great haul, and 'twas a pleasure to meet in person at the show.
                        Best regards,
                        Streptile

Trevor, It was a pleasure meeting you too! BTW, do you recognize the BH Mayer EK1?

I checked the ring of the Friedrich Keller, and the first 6 in "66." is indeed stamped right over the solder joint. Thanks for that info.

                          I your mounted Godet!

The packet is by Anton/Maria Schenkl, so not a match to the Deumer cross.

Beautiful set you have there. The Godet in particular is a real stunner (but I think Trevor's manages to beat your's into second place).

I agree - Trevor's Godet is definitely nicer than mine.
