    Cloth DKG on Panzer Backing

Dear all, I think it is difficult to tell the difference between Navy backing and Panzer backing. But I think that this is a good panzer backing example. Unforunately, there is no maker mark. Hope you enjoy. Thank you.

Very very nice cross in mint conditions; even for me a panzer one.

    - THE SS TK RING
    - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE

    and more!

Thanks Antonio. Who do you think is the maker? I think it was by CA Westmann, Dresden.

It is not a Westmann. The swastika is too wide for that maker.

I agree that the arms of this swastika are too thick to be associated with what would normally be seen on a cloth DK with a Westmann tag.

            However, is Westmann a maker?

I am not aware of anyone by that name having either a Prasidialkanzlei or an LDO number.

Maybe they were an embroidery shop. Perhaps they produced breast eagles, collar tabs, or other cloth items.

Anyone have any info to share on this Westmann firm?

Thanks Calvin. You have raised a good point which I don't know how to answer. In regard to the captioned example, after doing some research, I still have no clue who the maker was. If anyone knows, please enlighten. Thank you.

                David:

How did you get Barry Turk's photos of that German Cross? I thought Barry had all his pictures 'copy righted' on the site. E.Medals.com

Did you purchase the Cross from Barry? Or, are you just 'borrowing' the photos?
