    EK1 by "2" with case..opinions please

    Hi fellows:

I picked up this EK1 recently from a pretty good source. When I did a search for the maker "2" I found it to be Juncker, but also found out that very few are marked with the "2"...does anybody know if this looks like a Juncker cross? Thanks, John

It looks like somebody put a "2" on a Souval.

A view of the case...it is the type with rounded corners where the flocking is in the recess:

Hi George: Thanks for the information...is the cross construction typical of a Souval?

Well, I have a Juncker "L/12" EK1, and it does not look anything like this one. This cross does not have the correct beading (too thick and no cross-hatching), the swaz and dates do not match my Juncker, and the pin, hing, and catch are not correct. Plus, as George mentioned, it appears that the "2" is not an orginal maker mark.

This is clearly a Souval with a 'fake' 2 stamped into it!

Hi guys, thanks for the information...I wish somebody would not play with these things and just leave them the way they came!

The style "2" stamp that Juncker utilized is in a way unique....nothing like what is shown!
                          Regards,

I see what you mean by the differencesi n the lettering and reverse assembly...also the Juncker appears to be a nice early piece while my piece appears to be a typical later war piece, John

                              Thanks for your help guys
