Sorry Marcus. I didn't mean to put you in the middle of all this. Just thought I'd add a little color to the blustering!

Actually I know quite a bit about "truth". Being a retired engineer, I have applied my skills to the research of some TR areas of interest and have contributed to several publications. The search for truth is always challenging yet fascinating. Perhaps more of you should give it a try.
Also, if I have an issue with a collector or dealer, I address it with them one-on-one, not over a medium such as this forum.

I agree that things need to be posted for awareness and for a learning experience. I think there is a tactful way to put this info out there and not slam everybody for bad business because not every dealer purposely sells crap. Also agree that dealers should be spoken to in person at shows and maybe some really bad ones like Charlie Snyder would have been shut down and run out of business long ago. Not quite true, sorry. I have many other accounts, about 4 pages of login names and passwords. I forgot my password on WA, or just couldn't sign and PM'd for info but I never got an answer I recall. Maybe I did it wrong or?? Anyway, I also had a couple of other accounts (new so no cost) here. This account I have had no trouble, so am going strong and enjoying the site. But if there is still an Alpha66 account (only one I remember of the several lost) it can be eliminated.

I have dealt with Major (retired) Snyder for many many years (before the Internet) and what makes him a bad dealer? I have sold him many things, and bought as much with no trouble. Maybe it's just me, but I rather like Snyder, prices are way out now, and he doesn't really have a hands on his business - lets friends and relatives run it now. I can only hope they don't do what Manon's relatives and friends did. now there was a bad dealer.

I agree all the way, have known him since him when he first started collecting, that is a long time ago. Never had any problems and used to deal with him a lot. We sent stuff on approval then - yeah those were the days - never a hiccup, and we traded a lot with no glitches. Those days are gone forever, but fun then! Feel sorry for newbies now with the repros seeming to outnumber the good stuff. But Bill is OK.

Make's me chuckle how stupid it makes them look every time they open their traps ...
Thanks for my laugh of the day, I can sleep tonight I have met too many of those prefect experts, and they always cost me. So now I just grin and tell them how great they are and move on.

I have bought and sold with Bill over many years. I began collecting before most of you were born! He is an honest dealer as well as a real gentleman. I'm sure none of you ever had a repro slip by?? None of us are immune from such items, even the most conscientious of collectors and dealers. Pay attention to Norm, amigos!!
I agree and have had about the same history with Bill as you. Couldn't agree more.

All I can say is do a search and ask other collectors for their stories or opinions, he does have good stuff no doubt about it but also has some very dubious items that are bad and many people through the years have been dupped out of some serious money. TPK

Yes, it looks from the front like my later Souval KvK I (with S&L hardware).
