    Gold DK in cloth...opinions??

A friend picked this up recently...i am thinking it looks good yet it does not have the die flaw in the 9....here are some pics...it blacklights perfect....question: are originals without the die flaw in existence?....opinions appreciated on this piece...

There are good cloth DKs without the flaw on the "9" but I don't think this is one of them. I don't like the wreath on it. It doesn't match the wreaths on any of my three cloth DKs.

I dont like the look of this cross at all.

The wreath is wrong, detail matches nothing I am aware of. Notice the intense ribbing above 1941..mine have little slits for detail there.

The embroidery isnt right, and the background material isnt what i am used to seeing. The dark gray rays almost look like a seperate applique, and the outer silver ray tips have no purpose, and arent even staggered.

The reverse could be right, except I see 4 large pins for the wreath showing through, and I dont see that on any of mine. As a matter of fact, the one I have that doesnt have backing paper, you cant even see the pins there either.

I think this cross has biger problems that a missing flaw.

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

I agree with the other comments. It looks nothing like known originals.

Apart from what has already been said, this is a well known fake, often to be found in auctions. Here is one example:
