EK1 & Case are OK, but the Card box does not looks OK to me.

Hi, I am new to this site as a member, however I have been in the hobby for a little over one year. I am certainly no expert, but I did want to comment. I have a relatively newly purchased Mayer EK1 with case that I matched to your photographs and mine looks very much, if not exactly as the one posted. The cases match as well, with the same hinge in back, and release button in front. Your case is in a little better condition tham mine, but the EK1 are very close. I sure hope that yours is real, or else I am holding a fake as well!

I agree that the outer box is not real. The printing is not typical of period manufacture and the wear appears contrived and very artificial.

First let me apologize for the quality of the photographs as they were taken quickly, and not in a studio setting. This is the Mayer (26) EK1 that I have recntly acquired. Based upon the posts, I feel pretty confident that it is OK and similar to the one posted in this thread. Any comments?

                              Hi Erwin,

I looked up the EK1 outer boxes in Niemanns 3rd Edition and on Page #558 there is a photo of the Mayer outer box. Interestingly, the front is a match, while the side lettering is a different style/font. The side style is not connected cursive and there is a gap between each letter. I hope someone with more knowledge will answer as I would like to know as well. I really liked your photos and the EK1/case are very nice!
