Star to Grand cross - old repro

    Hi,
I think it's old repro, a lot of difference to new fakes. I think, will be interested to community to see the back of this star ( marked 2 ). I know the original (only one in West Point museum) has 4 rivets, here is only one. This example is very heavy.
    What's your thoughts about it?

It may be old, but looks more substantial than some of the new ones if nothing else.

A Rounder Star. Now that's a new twist.

But wow .. this one is really bad. Not really meant to foll many if that's what it's trying to do.

I noticed it was a rounder too. Interesting that its a one piece rounder, copied from the "wrong" fake perhaps. Still its a solid old thing. I've not seen the reverse of recent fakes, but some seem a little tinny from the front. It seems that the cross has moved on the rivet. You could remove it and put a more accurate fake in its place. Still this is a happy space filler till the US Government sells the real one.
