Knights cross and Spanish cross in bronze - authenticity help requested

    Greetings everyone,

I have been watching and reading these forums for a couple of months and see the value of information and knowledge that is stored here. Now I registered and come to you with a request for help. I am planning on moving out of my WW2 German collection towards my WW1 German heritage and as such I am parting with a large portion of my WW2 German medal collection. I wish to know if these items are originals or fakes.

I bought them about 10 years ago from a collector who worked for "Academy coins & Militaria". They were sold to me under the premise of being originals, except for the Knights cross which he was not sure. As I was starting collecting back then, I didn't know much about the fakes. I had heard some stories but that was my extent of knowledge on the subject.

I posted on a militaria forum I frequent and everyone recommended I come here to seek assistance.

I also have a gold wound badge, Afrika korp cuff title, and a Luftwaffe ground assault badge that I will be posting the appropriate sub forums, and that I wish to ask for authenticity help with.

I appreciate any and all help that you experts can provide.

The KC is a post-war Souval and the SC is just but ugly IMHO.

      cheers

Sorry, but both are post-war copies.

Dipping 3 Souval, which is the pick of the fillers. This one hasn't been finished so nicely along the edges

              KC fake and SC bad

Hope you didn't get your clocked cleaned but the postwar Souval KC might be desirable to a collector of Rudolf Souval postwar creations. But and yet for a tiny fraction of what an originals value is.

Greetings gentlemen. Thank you for responding and having a look at the medals in question.

I am happy I did not pay out the nose for these when I was starting out. In the last few years, I have seen some poor copies surface as you all have mentioned are out there.

I just never got around to posting images of the medals and getting them appraised so I am very happy to finally know the truth behind them.

Date design on that EK-2 looks very close to date on Souval's RK, "3" is very similar.

                    .....is it postwar Souval EK-2?

                      Hello again everyone,

I am just curious. I looked at another post with a Spanish cross confirmed as an original then I looked back at the one posted here but I don't see what makes it stand out as a post war fake ? Is it the feathers on the eagles or the placement of the swastika ?

                      Thank you for your time.
