I think Nugiseks cross might well be a postwar piece.. right?

The fate of Paul Maitla was uncertain for number of decades, until some information was discovered in 2005 in the city archives of the Czech town of Nymburk. These archives show that Maitla was arrested on May 9, 1945 and murdered together with 4 other Estonian soldiers on May 10 (on the first day of peace after World War II had ended) by Czech communists.

The Knight´s cross that Nugiseks received during the war was lost in Tschekoslowakia during the closing stages of the war or right after.
The cross that he posseses today, was given to him during the early 90´s by former german brothers in arms, if I remember correctly.

The medals pictured were photographed by myself, they are not attributed to Schwartzkopff , just examples I owned while I owned the Schwartzkopff document. They were all displayed at the Max in pittsburgh in the early 1990s and actually won a couple of awards 1st, and a 2nd.

                      Hi Sepp,

You've shown some very nice examples of original KC Prelims in this thread, however, I believe this example is not an original.

                      Best Regards,
                      John

Thanks Michael, I forgot you were the one who took the photo.

Hi Sepp ! Yes IMO John is correct on this Prelim. I first saw it in a book years ago and remember thinking it looked bad. The Burgdorf sig. is all wrong. I'd like to know the origin of it. Later Buddy, Tom

                              Hi Tom,

Agreed - this is one of the first things I noticed as well.

                              Best,
