    My first real 1870 EK2!!!

    Hi guys,

My pics are terrible and don't do this nice cross any justice but here it is! My first real 1870 EK2! I had one of the notorious 9th bead fakes some years ago and finally got a real one! Let me know what you think. If anyone has any info on a possible maker that would be greatly appreciated. I hear that the "Type A's" are unknown however.

    Thanks for looking!

Looks good to me but it might benefit you to have a Mod move the thread to the Imperial section where guys who are really into these spend their time. They will be able to tell you much about it's period of manufacture I'm sure.

    Regards,
    Stu

Thanks for your comments. Actually that's just the camera flash that's causing the lighting problems. I need to figure out how to turn off the flash on my camera and set-up better lighting for photographing medals

Here's some MUCH better pics. I hope the seller doesn't get upset with me for using his photos.

Could you explain what makes you think that?

                      Best regards,

Hard to tell, but from the first set of pictures core looks painted not blackened .
