Well Ben ... I have seen Deschler mentioned a few times - sofar not Maybauer .

This brings me to ask John - if he could look on his new acquisitions if his has "tapered" cutouts between the arms of the Swastika , as can be found on Juncker Spanish Cross Rondels .

Some S-Bs have this feature and some do not . This would show some Juncker involvment .

This Juncker spanish Cross rondel shows the 'tapered cut-outs' quit well .

As you can see from the pic I posted the gaps between the hakenkreuz arms is not angled the way the Spanish cross swastika's is.

But I don't belief that this EK2 made from Deschler ;-)

Thanks John ...... just as I thought it would be . The Juncker has a real strong taper . I should have indicated that the taper on these is far less , but it is there . One only finds the taper on the 1st core type and not the 2nd one . Nothing realy exiting ... just the first Iron Cross type I have come across that actualy has a tapered cutout .
Here is the one I have that demontrates that .

Hi Douglas, yes I see what you mean now. Also on the lower arm of yours and my example is a small chunk of what looks like excess material/ iron. From the die strike?
