Maurice - I have a few of these and the draw back of a loose core is seen a lot of times on the bead edge mostly . The early ones have a thin Ni plated core which the sharp edges of the inside bead frame 'scratches' through and where often rust bubbles will form . Paint appearse a bit rough and 'chunky' - pasty like .... not smooth like most painted cores . One feature that helps to recconaise this maker is the " tall 8 " in the reverse 1813 date .
